What is presbyopia?

Presbyopia is related to the loss of the accommodative power of the eye, which causes the deterioration of the ability to focus and makes the near-blurred images.

These changes appear around 45 years of age and the main symptom is the need to lengthen the reading distance.

With the loss of the accommodative power of the eye, it is difficult to focus on the objects that are nearby, causing the symptoms of presbyopia. Most people begin to experience this type of refractive error when they are over 40 years old, however, myopic people can see more closely around longer.

What treatments are there for presbyopia?

The most common ways to correct these vision changes are to wear glasses with bifocal lenses or use progressive lenses.
